ABOUT OUR VOICE & SINGING LESSONS IN BURKE (AGES 6+)
At Expressions Music Academy, we offer weekly private voice and singing lessons to students starting at age 6. Our lessons are available in 30, 45, and 60-minute increments at our Burke location to fit into your busy schedule. Lessons are available to beginners as well as self-taught or experienced students in a variety of different styles such as pop, musical theatre/broadway, classical, jazz, gospel, worship, or rock music. Our instructors love working with both casual and serious learners alike, and are happy to accommodate any unique goal you may have when it comes to your singing.
VOICE & SINGING LESSONS FOR BEGINNERS IN BURKE
We believe that anyone can learn how to sing. Our Burke voice instructors love working with beginners, creating laid-back, positive, and encouraging environments. We want to make our new voice students feel comfortable singing in front of an audience as we realize this might be the first time doing so. Instructors build a curriculum that includes a combination of warm-up exercises, breathing and tonal exercises, ear training, introduction to stage presence—and of course students’ favorite songs—to set a healthy foundation upon which to grow.
VOICE & SINGING LESSONS FOR CHILDREN IN BURKE
For younger students under the age of 12, our Burke instructors focus on developing skills that will not damage vocal cords while they are still maturing. At this age, our curriculum heavily focuses on matching pitch, basic breathing techniques, reading music, and stage presence. Additionally, our instructors teach songs that are age-appropriate both in material and vocal demands.

Our Burke vocal instructors love working with adults, and they know how to make them feel comfortable with their voice and take it to a whole new level. Our adult students have all different types of goals, from nailing a choir solo to auditioning for the worship team at church to casually exploring their longtime hobby of singing. No matter the goal, we can help get you there while making sure you’re having fun while doing it.

All our instructors either hold or are pursuing degrees in music and all have had prior experience teaching music. When selecting instructors, we seek out teachers who can teach our students with the utmost patience and care. Our rigorous hiring process ensures that every one of our instructors has been screened, auditioned, interviewed, selected, and trained to teach our students. Once hired, our instructors undergo a comprehensive training program and are continually evaluated to provide consistent excellence.
FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING AND MAKE-UP OPTIONS 7 DAYS A WEEK IN BURKE
We have many lesson time slots available weekday afternoon and evenings and over the weekend. Our Burke location is open all year round, including the summer. If you need to cancel your lesson or change your lesson time, no problem! Our busy families love our convenient unlimited make-up lesson and schedule change policy. And if you’re too busy or unable to come in for a make-up lesson, you can even request a custom video lesson from your instructor instead.
FREE BIANNUAL RECITALS IN BURKE
Our voice and singing students want to feel motivated to practice and parents want to see progress, so our optional recitals accomplish both these objectives. We offer a variety of recital options and themes in our very own concert hall twice a year in Burke to give students the opportunity to perform live. We pride ourselves on our well-organized, warm, supportive hour-long performance and they’re entirely free for all involved.
LEVEL UP MUSIC ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM
Since 2012, our Level Up Music Achievement Program incentivizes students to master their instruments. Our students enthusiastically climb from levels one through 10, earning certificates, wristbands, stickers, and trophies. Think of it as a martial arts black belt program but for music lessons! This structured, nationally recognized, and motivating program is completely free (and optional) for Expressions Music Academy students of all ages.
MONTH-TO-MONTH LESSON STRUCTURE
At Expressions Music Academy in Burke, there are no long-term quarterly or annual commitments for voice and singing lessons. Instead, students are only committed to classes a month at a time.
