ABOUT OUR VOICE lessons in Herndon (AGES 6+)
At Expressions Music Academy, we offer weekly private voice and singing lessons to students from ages six through to adulthood. We offer 30, 45, and 60-minute voice lessons at our Herndon location, making it convenient to fit into your schedule. Classes are available to beginners and self-taught or experienced students in a variety of different vocal styles such as pop, musical theatre/broadway, classical, jazz, gospel, worship, or rock music. Whether you’re serious about becoming a performer or sing as a hobby, we’d love to work with you to accommodate any unique goal you have when it comes to your voice.
VOICE LESSONS FOR BEGINNERS IN HERNDON
We believe that anyone can learn how to sing, no matter your age! Our Herndon voice and singing instructors love working with beginners and specialize in creating laid-back, positive, and encouraging environments. We know it’s probably your first time singing in front of someone, so we strive to make sure our students feel comfortable. HERNDON CHILDREN’S VOICE LESSONS
For younger students under the age of 12, our Herndon voice instructors focus on developing skills that will not damage vocal cords while they are still maturing. Therefore, we heavily concentrate on matching pitch, basic breathing techniques, reading music, and stage presence at this age. Additionally, the songs taught are age-appropriate both in material and vocal demands.
VOICE LESSONS FOR ADULTS IN HERNDON
Our Herndon vocal instructors love working with adults, and they know how to make them comfortable while taking them to a whole new level with their voice. Our adult students have all different types of goals, whether it’s nailing their choir solo to auditioning for the worship team at church or casually exploring their longtime hobby of singing. We’re able to assemble a team of the best voice instructors in Virginia because they want to teach at Expressions Music Academy in Herndon. We believe that it takes a particular type of personality to make a great teacher, so we actively seek out those with the gift of teaching. All of our instructors either hold or are pursuing degrees in music, and all have had prior experience teaching music. Our instructors undergo a rigorous hiring process—each one has been screened, auditioned, interviewed, selected, and trained to teach our students. Once hired, our instructors undergo a comprehensive training program and are monitored to ensure consistent excellence. When it comes to our students, we want to make sure our instructors treat them with the utmost patience and care in their singing journey.
FLEXIBLE LESSON SCHEDULING AND MAKE-UP OPTIONS IN HERNDON
We have many time slots available for voice lessons to accommodate your busy schedule, whether it’s on a weekday, evening, or weekend. We’re open seven days a week all year round at our Herndon location, even during the summer. But, of course, we know life happens, so no problem if you need to cancel your lesson or change your lesson time! Our busy families love our unlimited make-up lesson and schedule change policy. And if you’re unable to come in for a make-up class, you can request a custom video make-up lesson from your instructor that you can do from anywhere.
BIANNUAL RECITALS IN HERNDON
Students want to feel motivated to practice, and parents want to see progress. That’s why we offer optional recitals where students get a chance to perform in front of an audience. In addition, we offer a variety of recital options and themes in our very own concert hall in Herndon twice a year. We pride ourselves on our well-organized, warm, supportive hour-long performances, and they’re entirely free!
LEVEL UP MUSIC ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM
Through our Level Up Music Achievement Program, our students enthusiastically climb from Levels 1 through 10, earning certificates, wristbands, stickers, and trophies for their voice lesson progress. Think of it like a martial arts black belt program but for music lessons! Started in 2012, this structured, nationally recognized, and motivating program is available to all Expressions Music Academy students in Herndon, encouraging them even more to master their instrument.
MONTH-TO-MONTH LESSON STRUCTURE
At Expressions Music Academy in Herndon, there are no long-term quarterly or annual commitments for voice and singing lessons. Instead, students are only committed to classes a month at a time.
